Philadelphia appeals court finally threw out the $550K indecency fine on CBS on Monday.  The fine was in connection with Janet Jackson’s nip slip at the ’04 Super Bowl.  The judge found that Janet and JT were
“independent contractors” and CBS could not be held accountable for their actions.

“The record is unclear on the actual number of complaints received from unorganized, individual viewers,” the ruling said. “The FCC cannot impose liability on CBS for the acts of Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake, independent contractors hired for the limited purposes of the halftime show.”  Source

I wonder if any action will be taken against Justin or Miss Jackson (if you’re nasty) since they’re being considered “independent contractors”.
