Alicia Says No Smoking
One of Alicia Keys’ most recent concerts, scheduled to take place in
Indonesia, was being sponsored by Phillip Morris International, the ciggy company. Alicia received a call from the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids urging her to pick the kids over the show. She spoke out against the company and they pulled down all their promotional billboards
Alicia says she was unaware of the sponsorship, saying, “I apologize for any misleading advertising initially associated with the show. I am an unyielding advocate for the well being of children around the world and do not condone or endorse smoking. I look forward to bringing my music and message to my wonderful fans in
Jakarta.”
