Actress Taraji P. Henson took time out of her shooting schedule (She’s currently filming “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”) to adopt a
New Orleans’ Single mother and her children who were victims of Katrina.
“This woman lost everything during Katrina and came back and got her little apartment. She had two daughters she was raising by herself and then her apartment caught on fire, so she lost everything twice.
“I wanted to give her something besides toys because where would they put it? They didn’t have anywhere to stay. So I collected three months’ worth of rent to make sure she got a place to stay,” she tells WENN. Source

Famous bling is about to hit the auction block. An auction called Hip-Hop’s Crown Jewels will auction off 50 iconic pieces of jewelry worm by rap’s elite. The items include:-Sean Combs’ princess and baguette cut ring-Missy Elliot’s diamond, black diamond and gold turntable ring-Biz Markie’s black and white diamond headphones pendant-Pharrell Williams’ Gucci link necklace dipped in pave diamonds-Lil Jon’s ‘Crunk Ain’t Dead” pendant-Slick Rick’s diamond set Eye patchJewelry worn by Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G. are expected to cause quite a frenzy. A portion of the proceeds will go to Russell Simmons’ Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, the Hip Hop Summit Action Network and the Diamond Empowerment Fund. Source

Angelina Jolie has plans to build an AIDS clinic in
Ethiopia. She hopes that her Ethiopian born daughter Zahara will take over the clinic when she grows up. She told Britain’s Hello magazine “We will be building a TB (tuberculosis)/AIDS clinic in
Ethiopia. One we plan for Zahara to take over when she is older.” She adds, “The next trip for our foundation will most likely to be Asia to follow up on the situation in Burma and our work in
Cambodia. The boys have been asking to go so we will take them when Knox and Viv are a little bit older.”
The clinic in
Ethiopia will be part of the work of the Jolie Pit Foundation that she set up with Brad Pitt in ‘06. Source
I’m sure during her travels she’ll pick up another kid or two along the way.

A source said that J-Lo recently donated a bunch of her clothes for a celeb charity auction. She also tried to donate some of the little imps’ clothes too.
The source says, “She also offered some of Max and Emme’s clothes, telling organizers she never lets them ‘repeat’ outfits. But the auction only deals in adult clothes. Jennifer told them it was a shame, as some items cost over £500 each.” Source
Um what? That’s just stupid. If I spent that much money on clothes for my kids (which I never would cus its just plain stupid) but if I did there’s no way I’d be giving them away, charity or not. Those kids would be wearing those clothes until they busted out of them…and then for like a few months after that.

The $100K that rapper M.I.A. earned for performing at an MTV Awards after party is going to building schools in Africa. “They’re giving me $100,000. Not bad, eh?” she said while on stage. “I’m going to use it to build schools in Liberia. It costs $52,000 to build a school for 1,000.”
M.I.A. is following in the footsteps of Madonna and Oprah who also funded the building of schools in Africa.
