Yung Joc in Hot Water

Published by justlo under Court Date Edit This

job.jpg

Fatimah Jester is taking rapper Yung Joc to court for back payment on child support.  She says that he only paid $5000 of the $2000 he was supposed to pay last month.  She broke down on the news saying, “I never would have thought he would be putting me through some of the stuff that I’m going through now,” she cried. “I can’t even get in contact with him when I need the things that I need for my baby. It’s just hard.”  She adds tht he’s always late, “For the type of money that he makes, $2,000 is nothing,(he owns)  Bentleys, Ferraris, Mercedes Benzes, two Range Rovers.” She tugs at the heart strings further by saying, “When you have a child that you - when you look in their eyes and they ask ‘mama, can you call daddy?’ and when you try to call daddy and we can never get in contact with him, that hurts.” Source

He’s either a real deadbeat or she’s a gold digger.  In any event, Lil Joc, er, Baby Joc, um, Joc Jr. (whatevs, I don’t know the kids name) is the one who’s really suffering here.  Lets just hope this doesn’t turn him into a bank robber or something.

Hulk Hogan is Victorious

Published by justlo under Court Date, Hulk Hogan Edit This

hulk.jpg

Hulk Hogan is off the hook…for one thing at least.  A judge has ruled that he no longer has to give his soon to be ex wife Linda $4.2 million for an apartment in Vegase.  The couple was in the process of buying the Vegas apartment when Linda filed for divorce.
Hogan’s attorney, David Houston tells E! News, “We are thrilled that the judge did not require us to continue to engage in the folly of purchasing a $4.2 million condo at a time when we should be considering other matters.”  In addition the Hulkster was given the rights ti live in a beach house that Linda had been living in by herself.
Houston also claims that part of the deal was “to substantially reduce Hulk’s required monthly payments to Linda.” He adds, “We believe the court injected a dose of reality into a contested litigation and feel that we have started down the road to resolution.”
Linda’s lawyers have yet to comment. Good for her! She’s been acting like a greedy heifer since this all began.  I think she knows that without his money she doesn’t have the talent or celebrity to keep afloat.

More Details in the Child Abuse Case Involving Oprah’s School

Published by justlo under Court Date, Oprah Edit This

oprah.jpg

More details have surfaced from the case involving abuse at Oprah Winfrey’s South African girls’ school.

The dorm mother who is accused of abuse allegedly asked girls to become lesbians, touched their womanly spaces through clothes, asked them to kiss her like they ‘kiss their boyfriends’, laid in bed with them, kissed their necks and had them squeeze her breasts.  In addition she was violent with them and supposedly shoved one girl against a wall and pressed her thumbs against her windpipe. Source

The world is full of sick, sick people.  I really don’t understand how or why this woman made it past background checks.  Oprah has a boatload of money. One would think she’d have the best, most reputable people working at her school.

Mary J. Blige Getting Sued

mary.jpg

Mary J. Blige is the latest celeb to be sued. A $2 million suit has been filed against her by Dream Family Entertainment, Inc.  They claim that producer Theron (Neef-u) Feemster, who wrote music for the song “Work That” was under contract with them when he wrote it.  Therefore, they own the song and never gave Mary, Feemster or Geffen Records (the distributor) rights to the song.

“It was released as an album, a single and in a commercial,” Dream Lawyer Brian Caplan said. Caplan said it was unclear if Blige knew the music belonged to someone other than Feemster, and said the producer “had no rights to the music he used.” Source

I don’t think Mary should be faulted.  This Feemster character is the one who definitely knew that he didn’t have rights to use the music.  Take his ass to court instead.

Mary-Kate Goes to Court?

Published by justlo under Court Date, Heath Ledger Edit This

marykate.jpg

Mary-Kate Olsen is being forced to testify in the Heath Leger investigation.  The purpose of the investigation is to determine where Heath received the prescription medications that led to his death.  Though Mary Kate requested immunity she was not granted it and will not receive a lawyer when she testifies.  She is being sought for her testimony because she was the first person to be called by the masseuse that found his body. Source

Update: Mary-Kate Dodged Court

According to People, the U.S. Attorney’s Office has closed its investigation.  Mary-Kate no longer has to worry about the immunity for which she was denied since she won’t have to testify now. Source I don’t understand why or what they were really digging for except for a little drama and dirt.  Unless his family was seeking more information in the case they should just let him rest.

50’s Sue Happy

Published by justlo under 50 Cent, Court Date Edit This

502.jpg

50 Cent, nee Curtis Jackson, is in the news again for yet another lawsuit.  He filed a suit Wednesday (July 23, 2008) against Taco Bell claiming they used his likeness in a ad campaign without his permission or paying him.

“Without seeking or obtaining
Jackson’s authorization, defendant Taco Bell made him the star and focus of its nationwide advertising campaign by using his name, persona and trademark to promote Taco Bell’s business and products,” court papers said.Taco
Bell challenged him to “79 Cent,” “89 Cent” or “99 Cent” to promote their “79-89-99 Cent Why Pay More” campaign.  50 received a letter from Taco Bell President and CEO Greg Creed saying, “We know that you adopted the name 50 Cent years ago as a metaphor for change. We at Taco Bell are also huge advocates for change… We encourage you to ‘Think Outside the Bun’ and hope you accept our offer.”  He’s suing them for $4 million. SourceI understand why he’s doing it but I’m just so sick of these sue-happy celebs.

A Win for Fiddy

Published by justlo under 50 Cent, Court Date Edit This

501.jpg

50 will be allowed to keep his lawyer Brett Kimmel.  Shaniqua, 50’s ex and mother of his son Marquis, was attempting to get Kimmel thrown off the case claiming conflict of interest because she tried to hire him to represent her in an earlier child support case against 50.  Kimmel argued that since he didn’t actually represent her he never had a client-attorney relationship with her and that the two cases are unrelated anyway.

After this most recent victory 50 cent has vowed to attempt to gain full custody of his son. He said, “I’m going to try and get him when I go to court on the 17th,” he [said]. “I’ll see if I can get him.” Source

50 and His Ex Continue to Battle in Court

Published by justlo under 50 Cent, Court Date Edit This

50.jpg

Things seem to be getting nastier and nastier between rapper 50 Cent and his ex-girlfriend and mother of hi son, Shaniqua Tompkins.  According to Allhiphop.com she’s suing him for damages related to the fire that destroyed the Long Island home she was staying in with their son.

“There wasn’t a written contract but an expressed oral agreement, which is recognized in the New York courts,” Catsandonis told The Hudson Reporter. “They decided years ago that she was going to be the domestic partner, and she was going to provide the domestic services while he devoted all his time to becoming a hip-hop artist. Whatever profits he was able to achieve would be divided equally, and he had promised her and their son that they could live in the house. He breached that contract.” Her attorney plans to argue that their relationship can be viewed as a common-law marriage. He plans to set a precedent case in New York for future parties who have legal disputes in these arrangements. “We are moving into the modern era where people are not getting married anymore but are common law husband and wife,” said Catsandonis.

In addition to this lawsuit, Tompkins has a restraining order against 50 that limits his visitation with his son.  In turn, 50 is countering her lawsuit with a defamation suit and is suing for visitation rights. Source

What’s sad is that they’re spending all of their energy slinging mud (and gasoline at for that matter) at each other when they should be spending it raising their son.

Jennifer Lopez Gets Slapped With a Lawsuit

Published by justlo under Court Date, J-Lo Edit This

jlo.jpg

J-Lo is being sued for $5 million dollars by a stewardess named Lisa Wilson who alleges that Jenny’s dog bit her.
Wilson claims that Lopez’s dog Floyd lunged at her when she walked past him, then when she fell the dog bit her.  She filed the suit last Thursday for the incident that supposedly took place in 2006.
Source

This sounds fishy as hell. I’m not a J-Lo fan by any means but sounds like this lady is just out for money.  Besides, I’m sure Ms. Lopez likes to do all her own biting.

F-U! Pay Me!

Published by justlo under Court Date, Jay-Z Edit This

Jigga Man is being sued for $88 million by an unknown rapper named Mitchell Rose. He says that Jay stole one of his songs. Apparently the two met at a boxing match in ’01 when Rose gave Jay-Z a CD of his songs in hopes that Jay would help him make it big.
He claims that Jay-Z used his music with out his consent and without crediting or compensating him. So he’s suing for “loss of opportunity and punitive damages for mental distress.” Source
I wonder how he came up with that exact number? Like, I wonder how much I can sue the lady who does my eyebrows for asking me EVERY time I see her “You want lip done too?” while making mustache gestures. Rude!
