Jamie Lynn Under Fire
Many people are questioning if the favorable press surrounding Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy and birth of her daughter are glorifying teen pregnancy. Also, some of her statements in the OK! Magazine interview are being seen as immature and uninformed.
She describes mother hood like this: “I love taking care of her. It is so much fun. I just want to hug her and kiss her, and I’m happy all the time.” Source
I don’t know if the media intentionally glorified Jamie Lynn. I think that there was a feeling of acceptance and admiration for her biting the bullet and taking care of her responsibilities. The problem comes when the average teenage girl sees a young mother like Jamie Lynn calling mother hood “so much fun”, almost like playing with a doll, and they think they’ll have a similar experience. Most teenage mothers don’t have a large support system or millions of dollars to keep them “happy all the time”.
Oh and another thing, is she wearing a nightie? Inappropriate! That’s how she got into this situation in the first place.
